Most flat pieces are available for pick up the next day. For bowls or slumped objects, please allow 4 - 7 days for the kiln firing programs to complete their process.
Glass Fusing and what to expect:
Step 1: Choose a glass base.
This is when you decide the size and colour of your project’s base sheet of glass. During this step, you will also be deciding on what your end project is going to be. For example: 3″ x 3″ or 4″ x 4″ can be a coaster or a night light. I have many molds available large and small. the price may range from $50 to $300 depending on the mold and glass used. All prices will be agreed upon prior to firing.
Step 2: Design your pattern.
This is where your design starts to come together. I offer over 25 different glass colours. Pick from a large selection of colored glass strips, frit, stringers, dots and crushed glass. Angela will always be on hand to show you how to get started with nipping, cutting, and breaking glass to create your own fused glass project.
Step 3: Leave it, I will then fuse it.
I will melt (fuse) your pieces together in my kiln.
Step 4: Put on the finishing touches.
I have several options that can be added to your glass to turn it into a functional item. Before it is fired, I can add a hook so it will be permanently set in the glass. After your piece has been fired, I can add bumps and turn it into a trivet or coaster. We can glue on a nightlight bracket to turn it into a nightlight. We can also fire your item one more time on top of a ceramic mold and give it a shape like a plate, bowl, candle votive, etc.
Step 5: Pick up
Please allow my studio approximately 1 week to complete the firing process. If you are visiting from out of town, specify when you need your item picked up before leaving. If items need to be shipped, it will be the customers responsibility to pay shipping costs.
Most important: Have fun!!!!
